Oil Tanker Operations – Double Hull

Scope:

The course is conducted in accordance to the requirements of regulation V/1 of the STCW Code and is based on the guidelines of IMO Model Course 1.01, MARPOL Regulations 13F and 13G, and The Oil Pollution Act of 1990.
Course is intended for officers who served on double hull oil tankers.

Objective:

Successful completion of this course should enable candidates who serve on oil tankers – double hull to understand differences, advantages and defects between single and double hull oil tankers. They will be able to understand how double hull construction influences transversal and longitudinal stability, arrangement of cargo and ballast tanks, and understand the regulations and conditions for loading and unloading cargo and ballast tank system during cargo oil operations.
