MARPOL Introduction

Scope:

This course is based on the guidelines of IMO Model Course 1.11.
Course is intended for masters, deck officers and engineer officers of ships of any type.

Objective:

After successful completion of the course the trainees should be able to appreciate the concern about pollution of the marine environment, understand the impact of oil pollution, describe how ships contribute to this form of pollution and explain the international rules aimed at preventing such pollution insofar as this is caused by machinery space operations.
