Man Riding Tugger Operations

Scope:

This course is instructs personnel on the safe and correct use of man riding tugger winches, and utility winch operations. In compliance with the Provision and Use of Work Equipment regulations reg. 9 and LOLER reg. 5.
This course is intended for all crew personnel involved with rig floor operations, drilling, wireline, coiled tubing operators, electricians and mechanics.

Objective:

The purpose of this course is to give the delegates an understanding of the basic concept of man riding with an emphasis on proper planning and safety precautions.

  • Pre-use inspection of equipment
  • Correct methods for use
  • Recommended/company/signals used during operations
  • Certification requirements for equipment
  • Provision and use of work equipment regulations
  • LOLER requirements
  • Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations
  • Correct PPE
  • Sign, Barriers and PA Announcements
  • Permit to Work
