Scope:
This course is intended to build on the DP experience obtained in Phases 1 and 2 of the Nautical Institute Scheme and to provide realistic DP-based simulated exercises including faults, errors and failures.
Objective:
Provide the participants with knowledge and practical use of dynamic positioning in order to enable him to:
- operate DP systems in normal and critical or worst case scenario
- execute DP operations including planning, procedures, risk assessment and problem solving in different types of operations and environmental conditions
Course Content:
- A study of case histories in respect to vessel incidents and accidents
- Functional setup and controls of a DP system
- DP operations (planning, conduct and execution)
- DP alarms, warnings and emergency procedures
- Operational scenario simulations

Prerequisite:
The participants of this course should have completed the DP
Basic/Induction course and completed a minimum of 30 days operational
familiarization onboard a DP capable vessel as documented in their DP Log Book.
